FAQ

  • You can email kidsadmin@summerlandbaptist.ca with your child’s name, age and the week you are requesting. This will put you on the waitlist. If a spot becomes available, an email will be sent to you. If you want the spot reply by email. We will respond and the spot will be yours as soon as payment is received.

  • Refund Policy

Parents/Guardians may request to withdraw their child from a camp by advising SBC by phone, email, or in person. A full refund, minus a 6% cancellation fee, will be issued if the request to withdraw is made at least ten (10) business days before the camp start date. Please note – statutory holidays are not considered a business day.

No refund will be given if there is less than ten (10) business days' notice prior to the camp start date.

No refund is provided after the camp start date unless there are extenuating circumstances. In such cases, a written request for a refund or a credit toward another camp must be submitted, accompanied by appropriate documentation (e.g., a medical note).

No refund is provided for days missed or for forgotten camps.

Refunds will be paid back to the credit card that was used during registration.

  • Payment for VBS is required with registration. Spots are reserved when payment has been received.

Once registration is complete you will be asked to pay by credit card at the end. This will secure the spot.

If you are unable to pay by credit card or are a low income family needing help with subsidies please contact Cory at kidsadmin@summerlandbaptist.ca to arrange alternative payment options.

Your child will not be registered until arrangements have been made.

  • At Kids Camp, we cultivate a culture of kindness, respect, and care—for each other, our leaders, and the spaces we share. We ask that every camper joins us in creating an environment where everyone feels safe and valued.

If a child’s behaviour doesn’t align with this heart posture, parents will be contacted. In cases where the behaviour continues, we may need to make the difficult decision to remove the child from camp. While this is rare, it would be done thoughtfully, and refunds would not be issued.

We do our best to keep eyes and ears open, but we know we’re not everywhere at once (as much as we wish we could be!). If your child comes home with a story that raises a red flag—or even a yellow one—please reach out. We love partnering with parents to make camp the best it can be. You can get in touch with us at kidsadmin@summerlandbaptist.ca

  • If you know that your child will be away or late please notify us by emailing kidsadmin@summerlandbaptist.ca. Drop off and pick up is at the bottom door of SBC on South Victoria Road. Doors will open at 8:30am and lock at 9am. If you are running late, park in the upper parking lot and use the office door to enter. Walk down (or take the elevator) 3 flights down to the gym.

  • If a child isn’t feeling well or gets injured, our leaders will assess the situation and contact parents if it’s best for the child to be picked up early. Many of our staff are trained in CPR and First Aid, and if a more serious injury or illness occurs, we’ll immediately connect with medical services and reach out to the parent or guardian.

Please note: If a camper is showing signs of more significant illness—like a persistent cough, fever, vomiting, or generally not feeling well—we’ll contact you right away, and they’ll need to be picked up as soon as possible to help keep everyone healthy.

  • All items left behind at camp are laid out daily for campers to look through the next day. Parents are also welcomed to email kidsadmin@summerlandbaptist.ca or come by during operating hours to check the Lost and Found themselves. (8:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday) At the end of summer, all unclaimed items are disposed of or donated to a local charity.

  • We take the safety of the children and leaders at SBC very seriously. Every SBCkids leader goes through a screening process. This process may involve:

    Criminal Record Check

Plan to Protect Training (teaches safe practice policies, procedures, and abuse awareness)

Face to face interview with Staff member and reference checks

    Work Safe training

Phase training (teaching about the developmental age of the kids they are caring for)

Basic CPR training. At least one staff member will have their Basic CPR training.
